10.14.20 LA-SJ Audio Recording Device
Encountered recurring problems with the Audio Recording Device. Noted to MLS Operations.
An hour before kick-off, the PME noted the device was present but not powered on. Mr. Nick Gilbert explained that the device was running on batteries and that they frequently needed to be replaced.
30 minutes before kick-off, the device was powered on and ready (4 red lights, LCD display working). The device was operational and started at Kick-off.
Mr. Gilbert then informed the PME at 18:00 that the batteries needed to be replaced and that they were replaced. The PME then restarted the device.
The PME checked the device during the half time interval and noticed it had stopped but was still powered up. The PME restarted it again 7 minutes before the second half kick-off. It appeared to work throughout the second half.
When the PME went to swap SD cards 10 minutes after the match, an AV technician informed me that the device no longer worked on direct current (plug into outlet) and instead required batteries which frequently need to be changed. He speculated that the device needed to be replaced with a new unit.
