When to Report

• Non-Confrontational Moments:

  • Goal Celebrations

    • When a substitute or technical staff member sprints 10-15 yards (or more) onto the field.

  • Water Breaks

    • When a technical staff member (besides athletic trainers) or substitute walks 5+ yards onto the field.

  • All Other Non-Confrontational Instances

    • When a technical staff member or substitute walks 5+ yards onto the field.

• Confrontational Moments

  • When any staff member or substitute enters the field in any way, whether it’s 1 foot or 50 feet.

When NOT to Report

• Non-Confrontational Moments

  • Goal Celebrations

    • When a substitute or technical staff member enters the field during a goal celebration (within reason - a few yards).

  • Water Breaks

    • When a technical staff member or substitute takes a step or two onto the field quickly.

    • When an athletic trainer enters the field.

  • All Other Non-Confrontational Instances

    • When a coach or substitute takes a step or two onto the field quickly.
