It is the Committee's unanimous decision that Inter Miami CF forward Gonzalo Higuain is guilty of simulation/embellishment.  Mr. Higuain will be issued a fine for this action.

10.01.22 COL-DAL Vallecilla Failure to leave field 77min

It is the Committee's unanimous decision that Colorado Rapids defender Gustavo Vallecilla failed to leave the field in a timely manner.  Mr. Vallecilla will be issued a fine for this action.

10.01.22 CLB-RBNY Mass Confrontation 18min

It is the Committee's unanimous decision that the Columbus Crew have been found in violation of the Mass Confrontation Policy.  The Club will be issued an official warning for their first violation.  Any additional violation(s) of the policy will result in a fine to the Club and a fine to the Head Coach.  Each violation thereafter will result in the doubling of the fine.

It is the Committee's unanimous decision that FC Cincinnati forward Sergio Santos failed to leave the field in an orderly manner.  Mr. Santos will be issued a fine for this action.

 

10.01.22 CIN-CHI Mass Confrontation 94+min

It is the Committee's unanimous decision that Chicago Fire FC have been found in violation of the Mass Confrontation Policy.  The Club will be issued an official warning for their first violation.  Any additional violation(s) of the policy will result in a fine to the Club and a fine to the Head Coach.  Each violation thereafter will result in the doubling of the fine.

It is the Committee’s unanimous decision that FC Cincinnati have been found in violation of the Mass Confrontation Policy.  This is the second violation of the 2022 MLS Season for the Club.  FC Cincinnati will be fined and Head Coach Pat Noonan will be fined.  Each violation thereafter will result in the doubling of the fine.

Due to their role in the mass confrontation, the following individual has been identified for supplemental discipline:

  • FC Cincinnati defender Matt Miazga will be issued a fine for inciting and/or escalating a mass confrontation.

10.01.22 VAN-ATX Mass Confrontation 95+min

It is the Committee's unanimous decision that the Vancouver Whitecaps FC have been found in violation of the Mass Confrontation Policy.  The Club will be issued an official warning for their first violation.  Any additional violation(s) of the policy will result in a fine to the Club and a fine to the Head Coach.  Each violation thereafter will result in the doubling of the fine.

It is the Committee’s unanimous decision that Austin FC have been found in violation of the Mass Confrontation Policy. This is the third violation of the 2022 MLS Season for the Club. Austin FC will be finedand Head Coach Josh Wolff will be fined. Each violation thereafter will result in the doubling of the fine.

Additional Competition Policy Issues

09.24.22 SJ-LA

In the 74th minute, a spectator ran onto the field and approached LAG player, #14, to take a selfie. Stadium security did not respond to the incident. A security officer appeared to open the gate to allow the spectator to return to the stands on their own time. Noted to MLS Security.

In the 90th minute, another spectator ran onto the field but was detained and subsequently removed from the field by security. Noted to MLS Security.

10.01.22 LA-RSL

The match was stopped by the officials in the 63rd minute due to spectators in the North end of the stadium throwing debris on the field. Noted to MLS Security.

At the conclusion of the game, spectators at the North end of the field threw debris on the field. Noted to MLS Security.

10.01.22 CIN-CHI

In the 74th minute, CIN fans were observed throwing water bottles/containers in the area of the CHI players. Noted to MLS Security.

Due to security concerns, MLS Security elected to have Officials exit the field through the central tunnel rather than the traditional south end egress. Stadium Security were advised of the change prior to the end of the match. Noted to MLS Security.

10.01.22 COL-DAL

A wire stake and fireworks container were found of the field during the field inspection. Noted to MLS Operations.

A spectator entered the field at the conclusion of the game and was apprehended by Security. Noted to MLS Security.

10.02.22 NSH-HOU

After the conclusion of the match, a spectator poured liquid onto the Referee as the crew exited the field. The crew identified the person and notified Security. Noted to MLS Security.

In the 64th minute, a spectator gained access to the side of the field. Security apprehended the individual before any further incident occurred. Noted to MLS Security.

10.02.22 NYC-ORL

After the match, a spectator near the NYC supporters’ section entered the field. He was identified and restrained by Security. Noted to MLS Security.
