The Committee’s unanimous decision is that the Portland Timbers have violated the League’s Mass Confrontation Policy. This is the first violation of the 2024 MLS Season for the Club. The Portland Timbers and Head Coach Phil Neville will be issued Official Warnings for this violation. Any additional violation(s) of the policy will result in a fine to the Club and a fine to the Head Coach. Each violation thereafter will result in the doubling of the fine. 

Due to their role in the mass confrontation, the following individuals have been identified for supplemental discipline: 

  • Portland Timbers defenders Claudio Bravo, Miguel Araujo, Dario Zuparic, and Juan Mosquera, midfielder Evander, and forward Felipe Mora will be issued fines for inciting and/or escalating a mass confrontation.

The Committee’s unanimous decision is that the Portland Timbers have violated the League’s Mass Confrontation Policy. This is the first violation of the 2024 MLS Season for the Club. The Portland Timbers and Head Coach Phil Neville will be issued Official Warnings for this violation. Any additional violation(s) of the policy will result in a fine to the Club and a fine to the Head Coach. Each violation thereafter will result in the doubling of the fine.

Due to their role in the mass confrontation, the following individuals have been identified for supplemental discipline: 

  • Portland Timbers midfielder Eryk Williamson will be issued a fine for inciting and/or escalating a mass confrontation.

  • Portland Timbers defender Miguel Araujo and forward Felipe Mora incited and/or escalated a mass confrontation (fine issued for violation earlier in the same match.

The Committee’s unanimous decision is that Real Salt Lake has violated the League’s Mass Confrontation Policy.  This is the second violation of the 2024 MLS Season for the Club.  Real Salt Lake will be fined and Head Coach Pablo Mastroeni will be fined. Each violation thereafter will result in the doubling of the fine.

Due to their role in the mass confrontation, the following individuals have been identified for supplemental discipline: 

  • Real Salt Lake midfielder Andres Gomez, and forward Cristian Arango will be issued fines for inciting and/or escalating a mass confrontation.

  • Real Salt Lake midfielder Alexandros Katranis will be issued a fine for inciting and/or escalating a mass confrontation (second violation of the 2024 MLS Season).

07.13.24 DC-NSH NSH Asst. Kimura Ball Retrieval Violation 83min

NSH Assistant Coach Kimura can be seen picking a ball from the midfield ball stand disk to quickly deliver it to his player for a thrown-in. This is NSH first violation of the season and will be issued an Official Warning with a fine held in abeyance.

07.13.24 MTL-ATL ATL Kimber Ball Retrieval Violation 93min

ATL Conditioning Coach Kimber can be seen taking a ball off from the midfield ball stand to quickly deliver it to his player for a free kick. This is the second violation of the 2024 MLS Season for the Club (the first violation is attached).  The Club will be issued a (fine for the second violation + a fine held in abeyance for the first violation)

07.13.24 CIN-CLT CLT Parr Bench Personnel Policy Violation 25min

CLT had a non-rostered club staff member in the bench area, at field level, or in the locker room from ninety (90) minutes prior to kick-off until the conclusion of the match. This is will serve as an Official Warning for their first offense of the season with a fine held in abeyance.
