The Portland Timbers have been found in violation of the Mass Confrontation Policy.  The Club will be issued a warning for their first violation.  Any additional violation(s) of the policy will result in a fine to the Club and a fine to the Head Coach.  Each violation thereafter will result in the doubling of the fine.

Further, due to their role in the mass confrontation, the following individuals have been identified for supplemental discipline:

  • Head Coach Giovanni Savarese will be issued a fine for violating the Bench Behavior policy.

  • Assistant Coach Miles Joseph will be placed on ‘Official Warning’ for violating the Bench Behavior policy for the remainder of the 2019 MLS Season (including MLS Playoffs).

• Los Angeles FC

  • Adama Diomande will be placed on ‘Official Warning’ for violent conduct for the remainder of the 2019 MLS Season (including MLS Playoffs).

  • Diego Rossi will be placed on ‘Official Warning’ for entering the field of play for the remainder of the 2019 MLS Season (including MLS Playoffs).

  • Assistant Coach Ante Razov will be issued a fine for violating the Bench Behavior policy.

  • Assistant Coach Kenny Arena will be placed on ‘Official Warning’ for violating the Bench Behavior policy for the remainder of the 2019 MLS Season (including MLS Playoffs).

  • Director of Soccer Operations Mike Sober will be placed on ‘Official Warning’ for violating the Bench Behavior policy for the remainder of the 2019 MLS Season (including MLS Playoffs).

  • Head Performance Coach Daniel Guzman will be placed on ‘Official Warning’ for violating the Bench Behavior policy for the remainder of the 2019 MLS Season (including MLS Playoffs).

06.01.19 DAL-SEA Ball Kid Incident 90+min

In the 95th minute, an FC Dallas ball kid throws an additional ball onto the field at the urging of an FC Dallas player in an attempt to delay the match. The player receives a YC for delay of game, and the club was warned of it’s failure to adhere to the Ball Kid Policy.

06.01.19 CLB-NYC Fan Incident 51min

Individual fan in West Stands at half-field yelled “pu*a” and “pu**y” at NYC player that had fallen to the ground. Same fan had incident below and was later ejected from seat.

Fan yelled, “Hey ref,…I’ll see you in the parking lot.” Fan was ejected from seat.

06.01.19 VAN-TOR Visiting Team Warm-Up Area

Toronto FC bench players warmed up in the first half down near the corner flag rather than the normal space behind the visiting team bench in the first half because there were security guards and garbage bins in that space. They were moved in the 2nd half, allowing TOR to warm-up behind the bench.  Noted to Operations.

The Referee Report noted that players and balls actively entered the Referee Warm-Up Area throughout their warm-up period, even after having been reminded not to during the pre-match roster exchange.

06.01.19 MTL-ORL Pre-Match Roster Exchange

Orlando City SC made a change to a goalkeeper on their roster after the pre-match roster exchange. The PME relayed the information to the Competition Contact via email. 

06.02.19 LA-NE Venue Medical Director

VMD & LA Galaxy Doctor both wore MLS-issued VMD attire. One sat at the 4th Official’s table and the other sat at the LA bench. They then switched positions at halftime. Noted to Medical.
