It is the Committee's unanimous decision that Robin Jansson failed to leave the field in a timely and orderly manner after receiving his red card.  Mr. Jansson will be issued a fine for this action.

The incident was reviewed under Disciplinary Committee Parameter #2:

Where the Officials See an Incident, and Issue a Red Card, the Committee may review the play for further disciplinary action, over and above the mandatory suspension and fine. Supplemental discipline (suspension and/or fine) will be administered if the Committee believes:

  • the offense is egregious in nature; and/or

  • it must act to protect player safety; and/or

  • it must protect the integrity of the game; and/or

  • the player is guilty of repeat behavior.

Columbus Crew SC have been found in violation of the Mass Confrontation Policy.  The Club will be issued a warning for their first violation.  Any additional violation(s) of the policy will result in a fine to the Club and a fine to the Head Coach.  Each violation thereafter will result in the doubling of the fine.

It is the Committee's unanimous decision that Nicolas Lodeiro is guilty of simulation/embellishment.  Mr. Lodeiro will be issued a fine for this action.

Diego Campos (CHI) has been found in violation of the League’s policy regarding Entering the Field of Play.  Mr. Campos will be issued an ‘Official Warning’ for this violation.

Portland Timbers Head Coach Giovanni Savarese was observed to have been interacting with Match Officials at halftime by the PME and on video.  Warning Issued.

7.06.19 CIN-HOU CIN Roster Exchange Prior to Official Meeting

Before the official pre-match roster exchange CIN Assistant Coach Pa-Modou Kah asked to see the Houston Dynamo Match Roster. The Houston representative also asked for a picture of FC Cincinnati’s roster. The official pre-match roster exchange occurred in the referee locker room following this exchange.

07.03.19 CHI-ATL VOR Security/ATL Broadcaster

During halftime, ATL commentator, Dan Gargan, entered the VOR. He was told by the VAR this was a violation of security protocol and that his behavior would be reported. Noted to MLS Security/Operations. 

07.06.19 MTL-MIN ATC Dismissed

MTL ATC, Robert Duveme, was dismissed in the 54th minute due to a violation of the Bench Behavior Policy. Pending Investigation. 

07.06.19 MTL-MIN Video Board Replay/Crowd and Player Incitement

After a penalty decision in the 44th minute, a replay of the incident was shown on the video board and, according to the Referee Report, incited the crown in a negative manner and resulted in a confrontation between the players and the referee. Pending Investigation. 

07.07.19 NYC-POR Field Conditions

POR General Manager, Gavin Wilkinson, mentioned that there was an issue with the quality of the turf at Yankee Stadium, indicating that it was coming up in large chunks all over the field and resulting in dangerous conditions for all participants. Noted to MLS Operations.

07.07.19 PHI-ORL Locker Room Air Temperature                             

Both Clubs requested that the air temperature in their respective locker rooms be measured.  The air conditioner appeared to be malfunctioning for both Clubs.  ORL’s locker room was measured with the WBGT at 76.6 degrees and PHI at 77.2 degrees. Noted to MLS Operations. 

·         07.07.19 ATL-NYRB Camera Crew Entering the Field of Play        

In the 10th minute, a camera crew entered the field of play after a goal was scored by ATL. Noted to MLS Broadcast.

·         07.07.19 ATL-NYRB Fan Incident

Following the final whistle, a water bottle was thrown by a spectator in the direction of the match Officials while they exited the field.  The bottle landed within 5 yards of the Officials. Noted to MLS Security/Operations.
