Although there will not be supplemental discipline issued at this time, Felipe Martins will be placed on ‘Official Warning’ for Serious Foul Play for his next five (5) 2022 MLS Season matches (including MLS Playoffs).

07.23.22 SEA-COL Rowe Failure to leave the field 47min

It is the Committee's unanimous decision that Kelyn Rowe failed to leave the field in a timely manner.  Mr. Rowe will be issued a fine for this action.

07.23.22 TOR-CLT Fuchs Failure to leave the field 65min

It is the Committee's unanimous decision that Christian Fuchs failed to leave the field in a timely manner.  Mr. Fuchs will be issued a fine for this action.

07.23.22 POR-SJ M. Lopez fourth official interaction 33min

Marcos Lopez will be placed on ‘Official Warning’ for Violent Conduct for the remainder of the 2022 MLS Season matches (including MLS Playoffs).

Additional Competition Policy Issues

07.24.22 ATX-RBNY

There was no ball stand positioned at midfield on the bench sideline. Noted to MLS Operations.

ATX Ball Retriever Violations 71, 74, 90min

A Ball Retriever returned a ball directly to a player in the 71st (70:33), 74th (73:22), and 90th (89:45) minutes of the match. ATX will receive a fine for the 2nd violation of the season.

 
 

07.24.22 LAG-ATL

The goal lines for both goals were not aligned with the back of the goal posts. The groundskeeper was notified but could not rectify the issue. Noted to MLS Operations.

After a foul was awarded to ATL near the LA Galaxy goal line, spectators threw objects onto the field near the Referee inside the field of play in the 90th minute. Noted to MLS Security.

LA Ball Retriever Violation 17min

A Ball Retriever returned a ball directly to a player in the 17th (16:56) minute of the match. For their first violation of the season, LA will receive an Official Warning and a fine held in abeyance, which will be payable should they violate the same policy at any point again in the 2022 season.

07.23.22 SEA-COL

The VMD did not attend the Match Coordination Meeting and did not introduce themself to the Match Officials prior to kick-off. Noted to MLS Medical.

07.23.22 HOU-MIN

In the 90+5 minute, the Match Official crew heard the crowd chant the “P” word during a MIN goal kick. The Officials notified HOU Operations immediately. Noted to MLS Security.

The Audio Recording Device microphones were not functional and the device stopped recording randomly during the first half. Noted to MLS Operations.

07.23.22 RSL-DAL

During added time of the first half, RSL players were complaining about FC Dallas wasting time. As a reaction, a new Referee to PRO/MLS asked the Ball Retrievers to throw the ball to the players to speed up play. This approach was discussed as halftime with the Referee, Referee Liaison & Ball Retriever Supervisor. All parties were in agreement that players needed to retrieve the ball from the ball stands. Ball Retrievers were instructed to comply with Competition Guidelines and only return balls to ball stands.

RSL Midfield Camera Safety Issue

DAL complained about the midfield camera being positioned too close to the field. In the 2nd minute, an RSL player’s momentum while challenging for a ball within the field of play resulted in a collision with the camera. Noted to MLS Operations.

07.23.22 ORL-PHI

A fan entered the field after the final whistle from the north end and was tackled by ORL Security near midfield. Noted to MLS Security.

07.23.22 TOR-CLT

The Audio Recording Device did not have a Club memory card inserted upon inspection. Noted to MLS Operations.

TOR Ball Retriever Violation 24min

A Ball Retriever returned a ball directly to a player in the 24th minute (23:52) of the match. TOR will receive a fine for their 3rd violation of the season.

CLT GK Coach Brian Edwards was observed approaching the Match Officials after the halftime whistle. He will be issued an Official Warning for his first violation of the policy this season.
