It is the Committee's unanimous decision that Austin FC Assistant Coach Davy Arnaud exhibited unacceptable conduct and use of inappropriate language directed towards match officials.  Mr. Arnaud will be issued an additional fine (total one (1) match suspension, fine) for this action.  Of the additional fine, a portion shall be held in abeyance provided there are no further incidents of unacceptable conduct and use of inappropriate language during the 2021 MLS Season (including MLS Playoffs).

08.14.21 RSL-ATX Justen Glad Suspended Player/Coach Policy Violation

Suspended RSL player, Justen Glad, was observed by the Match Director to be in violation of the Suspended Player/Coach Policy limiting access to locker rooms, the tunnels, and field 90 minutes prior to kickoff until the conclusion of the match. He will receive a fine for this violation.

08.14.21 HOU-COL

In the 90+2 minute of the match, the Referee stopped the match and complied with Step 1 of the FIFA Anti-Discriminatory Protocol due to a section of the stadium that could be heard using the banned fan chant as the Colorado goalkeeper took a goal kick. The referee informed the Match Director of the incident and asked that an announcement be made urging the spectators to cease the anti-discriminatory behavior. The referee and players congregated in the center circle until the announcement was made. Play was restarted with a throw-in and no further incident was observed by the match officials. 08.14.21 MTL-NYRB

The match date was listed incorrectly within the Digital Match Roster Platform and, therefore, did not disseminate the DMR appropriately 60-minutes prior to kick-time. Redundancy protocol was implemented using paper rosters in-stadium and the images were distributed electronically to all other stakeholders. Competition investigating cause of issue.

In the 45+, 71, and 90+ minutes, beer cups/cans and water bottles were thrown onto the field into the vicinity of players. The Officials asked the Match Director to inform stadium operations personnel to make an announcement after the second and third incidents. Noted to MLS Security & Operations.

08.14.21 TOR-NE

The second half kick-off was delayed a minute and a half due to TOR arriving late to the field. Noted to MLS Operations.

08.14.21 TOR-NE TOR Ball Retriever Violation

The Ball Retriever threw the ball directly to TOR #44 Gonzalez at midfield once the ball went out for a throw-in in violation of the Ball Retriever Guidelines. TOR will receive an Official Warning for their first violation the policy.

The second half started one minute late due to broadcast. Noted to MLS Broadcast & Operations.

08.15.21 CHI-CLB

The second half kick-off was delayed a minute and fifty seconds due to CLB arriving late to the field. Noted to MLS Operations.

The Audio Recording Device was working when it was originally set up. When the Match Director attempted to start it, the device indicated “low battery”. The Match Director found 2 extra AA batteries and replaced them within the 1st minute of play. He notified the operations staff. Noted to MLS Operations.

08.15.21 NSH-DC

The second half kick-off was delayed due to NSH arriving to the field late. Noted to MLS Operations.

The Audio Recording Device was checked by the Match Director 15 minutes into the first half, and he noticed that it had powered off. He requested new batteries from stadium operations personnel and the device was turned back on. Noted to MLS Operations.

08.15.21 ATL-LAFC

The Audio Recording Device malfunctioned until the 5th minute when a technician was called to address and rectify the issue. Additionally, there was no Club memory card in the device upon inspection. Noted to MLS Operations.

08.15.21 ATL-LAFC ATL Bench Personnel Policy Violation

Six Non-Rostered ATL players were observed by the Match Director to be in violation of the Bench Personnel Policy, which limits non-rostered players access to locker rooms, the tunnels, and field 90 minutes prior to kickoff until the conclusion of the match. ATL will receive an Official Warning for it’s first violation of the policy.
