The incident was reviewed under Disciplinary Committee Parameter #2:

Where the officials see an incident, and issue a red card, the Disciplinary Committee may review the play for further disciplinary action, over and above the mandatory suspension and fine.  Supplemental discipline (suspension and/or fine) will be administered if the Disciplinary Committee believes:

  • the offense is egregious in nature; and/or

  • it must act to protect player safety; and/or

  • it must protect the integrity of the game; and/or

  • the player is guilty of repeat behavior.

It is the Disciplinary Committee's unanimous decision that Chris Mavinga will be suspended for one (1) additional match (two (2) matches total) and issued an additional fine for violent conduct.

It is the Committee's unanimous decision that Chris Mavinga will be issued a $250 fine for failing to leave the field in a timely and orderly manner after receiving his red card.

The Houston Dynamo have been found in violation of the Mass Confrontation Policy.  The Club will be issued a warning for their first violation.  Any additional violation(s) of the policy will result in a fine  to the Club and a fine to the Head Coach.  Each violation thereafter will result in the doubling of the fine.

MIN Head Coach, Adrian Heath, was observed in violation of the Interacting with Match Officials at Halftime Policy.  He will be sanctioned consistent with the schedule outlined in the Competition Manual.

ATL was observed to have been in violation of the Video Board Replay Policy.  A replay of a potential DOGSO was shown on the video board prior to the restart of play. Pending Investigation.

 

08.04.18 COL-LAG Video Board Replay Violation 35min

COL was observed to have been in violation of the Video Board Replay Policy.  A replay of a penalty decision was shown on the video board prior to the restart of play. Pending investigation.

 

08.04.18 ORL-NE Friedel Interacting with Match Officials at Halftime

ORL Head Coach, Brad Friedel, was observed in violation of the Interacting with Match Officials at Halftime Policy in the tunnel.  Without an image or video as evidence, we cannot act at this time.

 

08.04.18 HOU-SKC Cabrera Interacting with Match Officials at Halftime

HOU Head Coach, Wilmer Cabrera, was observed in violation of the Interacting with Match Officials at Halftime Policy.  Cabrera was dismissed during this interaction and, therefore, will not be subjected to double jeopardy sanctioning.

 

08.04.18 HOU-SKC Fan Conduct

A bottle was thrown from the south side seating and nearly struck players and the referee around the top of the penalty area in the 86th minute.  Bottles and objects were thrown around the RRA in the 97th minute resulting in the referee not being able to review an on-field incident out of concerns for his safety. AR2 was showered with beer by a fan on the east side of the stadium during stoppage time.  Noted to MLS Security.

Fans behind the goal began chanting "F#$% the Red Bulls” in the 7th minute and "Come on City boys, make some f#$%ing noise" in the 11th and 79th minutes. Noted to MLS Security.
