Additional Competition Policy Issues
03.05.22 RSL-SEA
High visibility balls were used in the second half due to the potential for more snow accumulation. Coordinated by Match Officials and Operations.
Halftime was reduced to a 5-minute break given the weather delay and a 20-minute warm up that preceded the completion of the remaining two-minutes of the first half. Coordinated by League, Clubs, Match Officials, and Match Director.
05.05.22 CHI-ORL
After the field inspection, the Match Officials notified the Match Director and Field Manager that the goals were not anchored down sufficiently. The goals had stakes in the back but had no head to prevent them from tipping over. Grounds crew brought sandbags to secure the goal. The goals have counterweights but would be better secured if the stakes had a head on them. Noted to MLS Operations.

LA expressed displeasure with the location of their locker room relative to the walking distance to and from the field and given that the home Club’s locker room was located much closer. Thought it was a competitive disadvantage. CLT provided LA with access to a different entrance for halftime that was closer to the field. Noted to MLS Operations.
