Both New York City FC and the Philadelphia Union have been found in violation of the Mass Confrontation Policy. Both Clubs will be issued a warning for their first violation. Any additional violation(s) of the policy will result in a fine to the Club and a fine to the Head Coach. Each violation thereafter will result in the doubling of the fine.
Due to their role in the mass confrontation, the following individuals have been identified for supplemental discipline:
New York City FC player Nicolas Acevedo will be issued a fine for inciting and/or escalating a mass confrontation.
Philadelphia Union players Jose Martinez and Sergio Santos will be issued fines for inciting and/or escalating a mass confrontation.

03.19.22 NYC-PHI NYC Assistant Coach Juarez Bench Behavior Violation
NYC Assistant Coach received an Official Warning for violation of the Bench Behavior Policy by acting in unsporting behavior by running down the sideline well outside of the technical area to protest the Assistant Referee’s decision.
03.19.22 NYC-PHI Ball Retriever Violations
Three Ball Retrieval violations were identified in the 32nd, 60th, and 65th minutes by NYC. NYC will receive an Official Warning and a fine held in abeyance, which will be payable should they violate the same policy at any point again in the 2022 season.

HOU Player #2, Steres, collided with the bench side midfield camera at 51:46 despite padding Noted to MLS Operations.
03.19.22 HOU-COL HOU Bench Personnel Ball Retrieval Violation 87min
A Ball Retrieval violation by a member of the HOU bench was observed in the 87th minute. HOU will receive an Official Warning and a fine held in abeyance, which will be payable should they violate the same policy at any point again in the 2022 season.

The Referee Liaison had to ask that two cameras be moved back from the sideline in the second minute. Noted to MLS Operations.

After a MTL goal in the 42nd minute, several projectiles (cups of beer) were thrown onto the field in the vicinity of the MLT players. Noted to MLS Security.

In the 90th minute, TOR #3 was injured. The Referee requested assistance from the VMD and TOR training staff multiple times. Both failed to enter the field to attend to their player upon the Referee’s initial requests. Noted to MLS Medical.

Ball Retriever delayed the restart of play by not providing a ball to a CLB player or returning it to a Ball Stand in the 34th minute. According to the Referee Report, the Ball Retriever stood there with ball in hand, engaged the CLB player verbally, and purposefully ignored the request for the ball. Noted to MLS Operations.
